Ski Montana: Whitefish Mountain Resort
Montana ski vacations at Whitefish Mountain Resort
Whitefish Mountain Resort (formerly Big Mountain Resort) is an excellent choice for your Montana vacation, with deep powder, long groomers and short lines. Here you’ll find a wide range of Montana lodges and hotels to accommodate you and your family.
From the peak of Whitefish Mountain Resort, you’ll be able to see into Glacier National Park, which is only 40 minutes away, down to the town of Whitefish, and on a clear day, out to Kalispell and Flathead Lake.
Whitefish Mountain Resort has operated since 1947, and underwent major renovations in 2007, which included a new high speed quad chair lift, and a new day lodge. It’s just 15 minutes from the town of Whitefish, where you can enjoy great restaurants and fun nightlife.
Whitefish Mountain Resort ranked in the top 20 in SKI magazine’s annual reader survey, but luckily, that accolade didn’t bring long lift lines with it. The resort covers more than 3,000 acres and receives more than 300 inches of average snowfall. It’s also just 20 miles from Glacier Park International Airport, making it easy to get to.
The resort offers all the best amenities, such as great restaurants, shopping, family-friendly activities and entertainment.
Season: December 5, 2009 – April 4, 2010
Hours: Daily 9 am – 4 pm
Night skiing late December to early March on Fridays, Saturdays and select holidays.
