Camping in Northwestern Montana is an amazing way to spend your Montana family vacation.

Eureka and Libby, Montana are in the far Northwestern corner of Montana and are a great out of the way destination for your Montana vacation. This area offers prime fishing, skiing, hiking, and outdoor activities. Lake Koocanusa is one of the last places in Montana where the Kokanee Salmon still lives.

There are a several camping options in and around Eureka and Libby, Montana. Most of them are around the lake You can see both public and private options listed below:

Public campgrounds near Eureka, and Libby, Montana:

  • McGillivray is a large forest service campground and recreation area and has a boat launch and a swimming area. Call (406) 296-3252.
  • Rexford Beach Campground, Tetrault Lake Campground, and Sophie Lake are north of Lake Koocanusa and offer nice camping locations that you can reserve in advance. Call (800) 280-2267.
  • Rocky Gorge and Peak Gulch are forest service campgrounds on the lake South of Highway 37.  Call (406) 296-3252.

Private campgrounds near Eureka, and Libby, Montana:

  • Mariners’ Haven is a private campground and offers tepee rentals, a small grocery store, and the marina. Call (406) 296-3252.
