Montana Maps: Yellowstone National Park
Starting at the Northeast corner of this map of the Yellowstone National Park area, you’ll see Cooke City, Montana, one of the main entrances to the park. It opens up to an area that is especially great for seeing wildlife, such as wolves.
Following the dashed line of the Wyoming/Montana border to the West, you’ll end up between two push pins, with Gardiner, Montana to the North, and Mammoth Hot Springs to the south. Gardiner is another park entrance, and had great lodging and hotels for your Yellowstone vacation. Mammoth hot springs is a great place to see elk, and the unbelievable thermal activity that Yellowstone is known for.
Keep following the border east, then south, and you’ll end up at West Yellowstone. This town is a great access point to enjoy some of the best fishing in the Yellowstone area. It’s also great in general for connecting with guided tours for snowmobiling, hiking, etc. It’s another place for great Montana lodging as well.
Continuing counter clockwise from West Yellowstone, you’ll find Old Faithful Geyser, one of the most well-known landmarks in Yellowstone, and definitely worth seeing at least once in your life.
In the center of the map, you’ll find Yellowstone Falls, another amazing landmark of the park, these are some of the most powerful falls you’ll see, surrounded by dramatic yellow-gold cliffs. It’s certainly a must-see on your Montana vacation.
